Our story

Our house carries a story that reaches back more than 250 years – to a time when life in the village of Selo near Bled was deeply rooted in the land, hard work, and hospitality.

It was built before the year 1748, with Jurij Lukancbeing its first known owner.

A Farm with Soul

Originally, it was a true farmhouse with outbuildings, land, its own spring, and a pond that served both the household and its guests.

The families who lived here were an important part of the local community – from hard-working farmers to innkeepers.

Inn and Traveller’s Shelter

In the 19th century, the house became one of the first inns with accommodation in the region. It welcomed merchants, farmers, and travellers heading towards Bled.

To this day, we preserve many elements from that time – stone walls, massive wooden beams, and details that tell the story of the place.

A Renovation with Heart and Respect

During the renovation, we wanted to preserve everything that spoke to us – the wood, the form, the proportions. Old materials were carefully examined, many preserved. Some walls still stand just as they did centuries ago.

A special touch was added by Mr. Štravs, a local and a builder, who lovingly restored the house with heart and soul.

With vision and deep respect for the past, he shaped and preserved it – in his own distinctive, dedicated way.
